Wessels Library: Programming

Welcome to Wessels' Library Programing and Events!

Welcome to Wessels Library Programming & Events!

Wessels Library, through its services, collections, and staff, enhances the student learning experience at Newberry College by providing a welcoming, inclusive environment that promotes lifelong learning and fosters equity and diversity.

As part of our commitment to supporting lifelong learning, we are excited to offer two enriching opportunities for students, faculty, and staff: Wessels Library Podcast Book Club and Mobile Mondays.

We invite you to participate, connect, and make the most of these programs. Stay tuned for updates and event details, and feel free to reach out with any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

📚 Wessels Library Book Club – Join fellow readers in exploring thought-provoking books, engaging in meaningful discussions, and sharing diverse perspectives in a welcoming environment- via PODCAST! Whether you're an avid reader or just looking for a good conversation, all are welcome!
Wessels Library Podcast Book Club information complete with QR Codes to more information and Vocaroo.com where recordings can be made.

Are you a book lover with thoughts to share? Join the Wessels Podcast Book Club and let your voice be heard!

Here's how it works:

  1. Read anything you like—a book, article, poem, or even an audiobook. Find great reads at Wessels Library, Newberry Public Library, or free online eBook sites
  2. Record a 3–9 minute review using Vocaroo, sharing what you loved, didn’t love, and whether you’d recommend it.
  3. Email the link of your review to russ.conrath@Newberry.edu.

Need inspiration? Talk about your favorite parts, what you’d ask the author, or what you’d change. And if you need a microphone, the library’s got you covered!

Be sure to listen to podcasts other faculty, staff, and students have already created. Plus, join our quarterly meet-ups with snacks and great conversations about our favorite reads!

Feel free to share this with any other book lovers you know on campus who would be interested in participating.

Ready to share your voice? We’re excited to hear from you!

📱 Mobile Mondays – Need research help on the go? Our librarians are bringing assistance to you! Catch us on Teams every first Monday of the month at 6pm where we’ll provide quick research tips, citation guidance, and answer your library-related questions- all from the convenience of your mobile device.
